I am so upset, I don't know what to say. I guess I can say fuck it, and let it all drift away to hell, but that would be too easy. Some people just need to wake the fuck up. Whatever. To those who matter, and that would be all those who mattered and might not think they do anymore, friendship forever and throughout, goodnight and life to you. Here is to quick amends! Forever and always who I am, Joe.

Azure Ray tomorrow night, hopefully I'll be able to tsee them. I might have to go on my own, but I think that it will be worth it. I don't like going into the city and staying so late by myself though, sorry I am such a stupid suburbanite. Work soon...

The Smiths: Louder than Bombs |

Last night was enough to bring one to tears. Bright Eyes played the Trocadero with The Bruces. Conor was on stage all night, because he was playing base for the Bruces, and aiding on the back up vocals. I didn't like the Bruces too much, but they did have a borrowed (from Bright Eyes) violinist, and I love rock music with violins (almost as much as I love them with cellos). I was there with Amanda and Andy, and we also met up with Pablo and his friends (thank god, because there was quite a line). Once Bright Eyes began I was overwhelmed with emotion of all sorts. To say that I was in awe at this fourteen piece ensemble is to say too little. Conor was wasted as fuck during the entire show, and though he had been drinking all night, I doubt that was the reason for his mindless ramblings in between songs. Though he was completely gone, each song was beautiful and perfect. Overwhelming... Absolutely overwhelming... Just to hear such and array of voice and sound and to be captured in the music and the glory of it all. I have made this comparison once before. Bright Eyes and the other Saddle Creek bands seem to me to be a modern beat movement. The indy rock kids are just as pretentious and just as "holier than thou" as the beat nicks of the fifties, and Conor Oberst the Jack Kerouac of the our time. I always thought how amazing it would be to have been apart of the beat movement in the middle of the twentieth century, to be apart of the jazz movement in the early twentieth century or to be a part of the surrealist during the end of the 19th and the beginning of the twentieth century, how great would it be to look back thirty years from now and to have actually been there as it happened. I truly believe that this is very possible, and how I hope it is.

Watched the new version of A Mid-summer Night's Dream, in my Myth and Fantasy Class, today. I thought I would hate it at first because Ali MacBeal (whatever the spelling is) was Hellena, but it was beautiful! The settings and the costumes were magnificant and the acting was wonderful (though I had initial doubts). Directed well, and a good take on the play by good ole Shakespeare. I especially liked the actor who played the Puck character.

"Short love with a long divorce, and a couple of kids, though they don't mean anything anyway..."
Thrown from the security of the womb I have nothing left for I have rid myself of all that I have by my own will and without consent and must in turn find vocation for myself into some meaningless task so as to hide my apathetic exterior what to do where to go who to do when to tell why to tell why to hide why to cry alone at night and feel the knives prick at the back of my eyes upon me staring at the empty shell through the empty shell through me they see nothing and I am nothing from which they will gain I will gain nothing from them always just beneath not to be good or bad great or worst just fuck this shit where will it get anyone how can I expect to be anything when everything is already taken what is the point of finding anything and anyone and creating a future that will exist just as well without you built upon all the others except you for everyone else has built the future as they built the past and there is nothing left for you in the future or the past or the imaginary now for what is now but the instance the imperceivable instance when what is to be becomes what was to be and what wasn't
